Essarai

Lily of Camar grew up afraid to use her extraordinary powers of healing. Told by her father to let no one know of her abilities she keeps them hidden until the Roh Vec Empire conquers her small island. Forced into slavery with the rest of her people, she escapes her bonds with the help of her Camarian lover. Together they follow the visions of a mysterious seer and travel to the Northlands, a wild, untamed land where even the trees of the forest are reputed to have power. Here, they will seek to find the truth of her heritage.

Tevarian was taken from his parents as a child and taught to serve the Emperor with his powers of mind control. Killing is second nature to him until he is lost in the forests of the north and his powers are taken. Now, living among his enemies, he learns that the truths he was taught by the Empire were a lie and that his future is not what he once thought.

Together with a renegade general, runaway slaves and the mysterious inhabitants of the Northlands, both must now choose to either join together to end the oppressive Empire or watch as it destroys all those who rebel against it.

The Drasana Series

Essendai

On the west side of the Empire, the rebellion has begun, but trust between the rebel factions is tumultuous at best. Despite early successes, it will take the cooperation of the rebel leaders to accomplish their ultimate goals, and that cooperation threatens to unravel at every turn.

Lily has left the safety of the Northlands and is now following Tevarian, the reader with whom she shares the mysterious Drasana bond. Regardless of her misgivings about Tevarian and his impassive ways, she finds herself drawing closer to him as they travel east. Their goal is to kill the Emperor; the man who has kept the Empire in his thrall for hundreds of years.

When the final battle lines are drawn, the question is not so much whether they will succeed in freeing the Empire but, rather, will they survive the attempt.

Drasana

Hoping to find a way to limit the Emperor’s powers, Lily and Tevarian travel in secrecy across the land of Laharah. As they search for the illusive lithos mines, whispers of a prophecy force them out of hiding. They encounter new friends and old while their Drasana bond strengthens, surprising them with new abilities and changing their relationship.

What remains of the rebel army is now in disarray with no clear leader to guide them. Their return to Nazbar is met with hostility and soon the ex-slaves are again on opposite sides of the soldiers. The Northlanders have left the rebellion and returned home, only to find that their safe haven is in danger.  It appears the rebellion may soon be over, crushed by the Emperor's readers.

After holding the bridge in the last battle, General Jacobo is captured and sent to be interrogated by the readers. Convinced his life is over, an unexpected turn of events gives him new purpose and makes him vital to the rebellion’s cause.

A young girl’s faith, a mysterious desert people, a manifestation by the Maker, lives lost and love found. Can Lily and Tevarian defeat the Emperor? Can they restore the balance between essarai, essendai and man?

What's Coming?

As of fall 2018 we have decided to start work upon a brand new set of books! We don't have a title yet however it will likely be a set of chronicles which will allow for the possibility for "time jumps" in between books. We plan on sticking to our strengths of enjoyable characters and the unique style of having multiple authors write (notice that I didn't just say two!) One other area we are hoping to improve upon is world building, heavier editing, and getting feedback on story ideas. This should lead to a better read for everyone, however it will probably take more time.  As of know we hope to have our first paperback out before 2020, but even that cautious goal could prove unattainable.

In the meantime, Zachary has committed himself to posting on the blog at least once a month until the first book is out. Go there now and read the rough copy of the prologue for or next novel.
